- Use the table of contents in the eBooks located in the link below to read about a typical day at the mission. Think of ways you will improve the mission system at the 22nd mission. Mission system improvement ideas should show a clear understanding of the negative effects of the mission system on California Indians. Improvement in the lives of native peoples in the mission system must be consistent with the goals of the mission system and be well thought-out.

Step 2: Pick your Location

- There must be water nearby. Name the water source.
- Example: _____ River or _______ Lake
- There must be fertile soil for farming nearby.
- Write the landmarks that will help you and the teacher find your mission (Example: Where Spencer Street crosses Victor Street.)

Finally, make your final draft of the Brochure. One person click the brochure template link below, make a copy, and share it with your partners.
When you have completed the brochure please proofread it for mistakes. Share it with me, I will print it out, and then explain how to assemble the brochure.

- a name for this new mission
- information about when and where your mission was founded
- a description of what a typical day is like ( which should be an improvement for the Natives)
- a description of what your mission looks like and how it was built (architecture)
- something that is special or unique about your mission
Step 5:
Create your poster. Use the Mission History and Design Packet to sketch and decide on a final mission design. One half of the poster should be your mission exterior outlined in marker and filled in using colored pencil. The other half of the poster will be your mission's labeled floor plan. The brochure will be attached to the poster.
